About this policy

Vasser Studios develops Calorie to Kilojoules, a utility that converts food calories (kcal) and kilojoules (kJ). This policy explains how the app handles information and how to contact us about privacy.

Version 1.2.0 introduces Google AdMob banner advertising. The earlier version 1.1.0 does not include advertising. The advertising sections below apply to versions that include AdMob.

Conversion information

The app performs conversions on your device. Numbers you enter are held in memory to display the conversion. We do not send these numbers to Vasser Studios, Google or any other party, and the app does not save a conversion history.

You can use Clear to reset the visible fields. Conversion values held in memory are discarded when the app process ends. Conversions work offline and do not require an account. Advertisements and online privacy information require an internet connection.

Advertising and information handled by Google

Ad-supported versions display a Google AdMob banner. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share the following information to deliver and measure advertising, analyse performance and prevent fraud:

• Your IP address, which can be used to estimate your approximate location.
• Device and other identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID, subject to device settings and applicable consent.
• App and advertisement interactions, such as app launches, taps and ad views.
• Diagnostic and performance information about the app and advertising SDK.

Google processes this information according to its Privacy Policy. More information is available in Google's advertising policies. Google states that data collected by its Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS.

We do not provide your conversion inputs to the advertising SDK. There are no accounts or separate analytics services in the app. Google's advertising SDK may process analytics information as described above.

Your advertising privacy choices

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to check consent requirements and display applicable privacy messages before requesting advertisements. Depending on your location, choices and applicable requirements, advertising may be personalised, non-personalised or limited.

Where required, an Ad privacy choices button is available in the app to revisit your choices. You can also manage advertising identifiers and related privacy settings through your device settings. The advertising and consent SDKs may store identifiers and privacy preferences on your device.

Permissions

Ad-supported versions use internet and network access for advertising and privacy messages. On Android, the advertising SDK declares the advertising ID permission. The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, precise location or health records.

Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and resolve support or privacy questions. Please only include information needed for your enquiry.

Our email provider, Microsoft, processes this correspondence to deliver and store email. We do not sell your support correspondence or use it for advertising. We may disclose correspondence if required by law.

Retention and deletion

There is no conversion history or account information stored by the app for us to delete. You can clear the visible inputs within the app. Local information stored by advertising and consent SDKs can be removed by clearing the app's storage where your device supports this, or by uninstalling the app.

Google controls retention of information it receives for advertising under its privacy policies. Removing the app or clearing its storage does not necessarily delete information already held by Google. See Google's privacy policy for its retention practices and privacy controls.

We retain support correspondence only for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and meet applicable legal obligations. You can email us to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us. We may need to confirm that a request comes from the person concerned.

Security

Conversion values remain on your device. We take reasonable steps to protect correspondence you send us, but no method of transmission or storage provides an absolute security guarantee.

This copy is published on the Vasser Studios portfolio, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes connection and security information to deliver and protect the website. This website uses Google Analytics with regional consent controls. It has no advertising scripts. You can change your analytics choice using Cookie preferences. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app or our information practices change. The updated date on this page identifies the latest revision.
